The Question of the Week

At the recent meeting for Reimaging Parish Life at the Diocese, they encouraged us to foster dialogue and listening to one another as a way of getting to know one another, to build up our community in faith. One way to do that is by using the Questions(s) of the Week. We will be placing discussion questions here in the bulletin each week. We encourage groups and ministries to begin their meetings with a period of sharing and discussion based on these questions, as they did in the Road to Emmaus:

“Were not our hearts burning as he spoke to us on the way and explained the Scriptures to us?” (Luke 24) Because the Holy Spirit is present when two or three gather in Jesus’ name, we can animate each other in the faith just by sharing our own stories.

QUESTIONS OF THE WEEK - INVITE OTHERS TO REFLECT AND RESPOND TO THESE DUSCUSSION QUESTIONS…

·      1st Reading Question: Despite facing many hardships, Paul and Barnabas succeeded in preaching the good news of Jesus crucified and risen from the dead. How do you work through personal setbacks?

·      2nd Reading Question:  At the start of his final vision, John sees the age to come in which God comes to dwell with his people on earth and all tears, pain and even death itself is gone. How does this message give you hope? Who in your life needs to hear this incredible message of hope?

·      Gospel:  Jesus modeled for his disciples how to love one another. Do you have friends or co-workers who show you how to love others?  What have you learned from them?
