Blessing of the Animals

Sunday October 4th, at 12:00pm

In honor of St. Francis of Assisi's feast day and Jubilee Year, the 800th anniversary of his death.

We will be having a Blessing of the Animals.

Please bring your pets, contained with a leash or pet carrier to the concourse in front of the Parish Hall.

The children and their families in our Religious Education program will also participate.

St. Francis Assisi was a beloved Patron saint of animals and reminds us to Care for Creation.

Please bring your pets and celebrate with us!!!

We will have fellowship with snacks and beverages afterward.

Eucharist Ministries

Eucharist Ministries Homebound meeting will be on Wednesday, September 30, in the Parish Hall in Room 5 , at 9:00AM.

We will have coffee and donuts.

This meeting is for ANYONE who would like to take Holy Communion to the Sick and the Homebound; or if anyone is interested in being a Eucharistic Minister, please attend.

Fundraising Event for Birthline

Birthline Fundraiser

Birthline will be hosting a line dance lesson, with food (BBQ by the Pub) and drinks (unlimited non-alcoholic beverages, there will be a cash bar), music and games to help support local families, western wear is encouraged.

The even will be held at St.Mary Magdalene Church on 1945 Illion Street here in San Diego.

The date is Saturday, October 3, 2026 from 6:30 PM - 10:00 PM.

The price of tickets is $40 before hand, at the door they will be $50.

To purchase tickets you can do it online at www.birthlineofsd.org or you can call 858-412-5867 you can also use the QR code that has been supplied.

Young Adults Ministry

Youn g Adults Ministry

We have formed a Young Adults Ministry (ages 18-mid 30's) and are currently meeting on Sundays after the 9:30 Am Mass in the Guardian Angel room in the Education Building behind the Parish Office for fellowship, and planning activities.

Healing Prayer Ministry

Healing Prayer will be available in the chapel today August 23 , following the 11:00 Mass.

Our prayer team will pray with you for any healing you need - physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual.

Prayer is offered the fourth Saturday of the month, or if you can't make that, the team is happy to set up another time to pray with you.

Upcoming Season of Hope Bereavement Support

The SEASONS OF HOPE bereavement sessions for those who experienced the death of a loved begins at St. Catherine's on Wednesday, October 7th and continues until Novermber11th.

We will meet once a week for six consecutive weeks from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM.

Each Christ-centered session explores mourning through scripture, prayer, activities and faith sharing.

Children's Liturgy of the Word

Children's Liturgy of the Word

During the 9:30am Mass, after the opening prayer, the priest invites the children ages 6-12 to come up and go with the Shepherd of the Word (teacher) to the chapel.

They will listen and discuss the Mass readings in a more child-friendly manner.

The children return to their families for the liturgy of the Eucharist.

Three is no fee to attend, you may pick up a Children's Liturgy of the Word name tag for your child before the mass.

Part of our mission at St. Catherine Labouré is to help feed families and the homeless. Our Food Pantry provides food to over 950 families and 1,200 homeless each year. Your donations of food are needed more than ever. Please help by providing the following food items that we hand out the most:

Canned meat /tuna/chicken

Canned Vegetables

Granola Bars
Protein Bars

Please do not donate expired foods, we can’t use them.

Canned items with easy to open tops an d single serving items are preferred to fi ll the homeless bags. Full size items are u ti lized in the family bags. If you prefer to make a monetary contribu ti on, notate "Food Pantry" on your dona ti on. St. Catherine would like to thank Jan Cortez for overseeing the Food Pantry.
